In my final week I was able to finally test, document, and finish the automation tool and put it into production. This was the major thing I worked on over the term and I really enjoyed so I’m glad it made it successfully into prod before I had to leave. I also made some changes requested by the data gen specialists to some other tools before leaving. It’s sad to leave Magnet, I really enjoyed this term and wish it could have gone on for longer. Nevertheless I look forward to graduating and coming back next May!

This week was mostly just tying up most of the side projects I was working on. So i was able to finish the provisioning tool work and some dashboard tickets as well as some other documentation and other minor things. Next week I plan on finish the automation tool. I’m also very happy to say that Magnet offered me a job and I accepted, so even though my work term ends next week, I’ll be back next May as a full time developer.

I worked on my job on week 15. much learning

I finished the provisioning tool changes and they tested successfully, we’re just waiting for some time to train the users on the new functionality and UI. After talking to the data gen team we agreed that all the work I had done was god enough to be productionalized, even the parts that couldn’t be automated. So I’m now working on making the data gen automation project into a tool that given some configuration will run the specific data gen processes for each platform. I finished the config design this week, and will begin work on the actual tool next week.

My provisioning tool changes passed all the testing, however the users of the tool recommend some function and aesthetic changes, so I’ve been working on those in my spare time. Most of my recent work was with the dashboard and getting some of the automation project ready for production. Next week I plan on discussing everything with the data gen specialists next week to plan out how the automation job should work.

I was able to finish the provisioning work this week, it’s just waiting for testing. I’ve also looked into other UI improvements for the tool. On top of that I was able to complete a couple dashboard fixes. So all in all it was a decent week. I’ve also done some improvements to the automation project and will continue those.

Not much to report this week. The automation work has been put on the back burner for now so I can focus on the provisioning tool and some dashboard work. It was somewhat of a slow week, but I was able to get through most of the provisioning work and some dashboard work as well.

The testers found a couple odd bugs with the usb license tool that were somewhat challenging to fix. However I was able to repair the tool as well as add some recommended aesthetic changes. Both Windows and Mac automation projects are done, I just need to integrate them. Both of these platforms have their limitations unfortunately, so we’ll have to discuss what to do with these going forward. I’ve also been tasked with making changes to our internal usb provisioning tool which is more licensing work, which I’m excited about.

This week was a continuation of last week basically. I played around with some Mac and Windows automation and was able to implement some basic processes. Next week I plan on improving these and integrating them into the project. The testers have begun looking at the usb licensing tool so I’m waiting to hear back from them. I’ve also looked at some more dashboard tickets and have tried to learn some more about react and redux.

I was able to finish the USB licensing tool this week which was really exciting. It still requires some testing but it was nice to push that out and I’m happy with how it looks and functions. I’ve also been able to get some dashboard tickets done, however react is still very confusing to me. With IOS automation looking good, I’ve moved on to Mac and Windows automation. I’ve drafted plans for both of these platforms and I plan on implementing them next week.
